#YouTube has just expanded its horizons in the gaming segment by offering a couple of new incentives for users. First up is Sponsorships, which will let subscribers pay $3.99 to video uploaders in order to remove ads and unlock some special perks such as the ability to have a live chat. This is being rolled out gradually and is only available to a handful of YouTubers at the moment, although Google has promised to expand soon.
There’s no word on how much of the split Google will keep, but it has been said that a majority of it will be directed towards the video owners. This should bolster YouTube’s gaming credentials to a great extent.
YouTube also announced the Mobile Capture feature on Android, which lets you live stream mobile gameplay on YouTube Gaming. The release of this feature was recently revealed by a report, so it’s not particularly a surprise. Users can even record themselves using the device’s front facing camera, while audio will be picked up from the microphone.
YouTube has also seen some other minor updates on the web and mobile versions, so it’s a very important update overall.
