Verizon officially launches Samsung Pay today

Samsung Pay

Although #SamsungPay has been available for quite a few weeks via top carriers of the U.S., Verizon Wireless was relatively late to the party as we all know. Well today is officially the day when Big Red switches on support for the wireless payment service, with the compatibility officially going live at 12:00PM Pacific Time.

So if you were to walk into Samsung Pay supported outlet later today with your Verizon branded Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ or the Galaxy Note 5, you should be able to pay without having to take out your wallet, assuming the service has already been set up. Interestingly, it was initially believed that Verizon Wireless will not offer Samsung Pay support, but the carrier shortly made a U-Turn and announced support anyway.

Customers who invested in the Verizon branded 2015 Samsung Galaxy flagships will be relieved to know that one of the highlight features of the smartphones will now be compatible with their devices. Are you a Verizon Galaxy flagship owner? Do you welcome this news? Sound off below.
