S5 Blank Squares On Facebook Likes
Problem: I was looking at my Facebook likes on my Galaxy s5 when it stop now when I try to look at likes all I get is blank little squares.
Solution: This problem is usually caused by some form of corrupt data within the app itself. The clearing the cache and data of the Facebook app from the Application Manager then check if the problem still occurs.
If it does then try uninstalling the app then download a fresh copy from the Google Play Store.
S5 Facebook Disappears From Homescreen
Problem: Facebook disappears from homescreen when I plug phone in to charge. Doesn’t happen every time but every second or third time.
Solution: Since this is an intermittent problem then it could be caused by a glitch in your phone software. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem persists then uninstall the Facebook app then get a new copy from the Google Play Store.
S5 Facebook App Can’t Be Installed
Problem: I updated the facebook app and then the application “unistalled” now I can’t install it again. I have a separate issue with my phone calls, every time I make or receive a call the speaker is automatically turned on.
Solution: Try checking first if the app is really uninstalled from your phone by going to your phone’s Application Manager then searching for it. If the app is really gone and you can’t install a new copy from the Google Play Store then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
Once the reset has completed open the Google Play Store and see if you can now get the Facebook app.
S5 Facebook Messenger Stops Working
Problem: Facebook messenger has stopped working. Also happening on my galaxy tab running Android 4.4.2, no carrier. I have uninstalled and reinstalled app multiple times on both devices. Error message pops up repeatedly
Solution: This problem may be caused by some form of corrupt data in your phone. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone then check if the issue still persists.
If it does then the latest version of the Messenger app may have a problem with the software version of your phone. Check if there are any new software updates available for your device and install it.
If your phone is already running on the latest software version and the problem still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
S5 Facebook App Freezes
Problem: When I am in Facebook my screen constantly freezes and I have to restart. When I go back into Facebook I can never find what I was reading. This happened as of recently as I never used to have this problem. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you.
Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of your Facebook app as this problem may be caused by some form of corrupt temporary data. You should also follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.
If the problem persists then uninstall the Facebook app from your phone and instal a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
S5 Facebook Video Lags
Problem: I’ve had this galaxy s5 just for 6 months now and I really like this phone but everytime I want to see a video either on Facebook or youtube it takes too long to load and it lags I really don’t know what to do. Please help me resolve this problem.
Solution: The first thing to do in this type of issue is to check if the network connection is not causing the problem. If the connection is slow then there is a possibility that the video will lag. Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi source or switch to your mobile data connection.
Once you have verified that the connection is not causing the problem then you should now troubleshoot the phone. Since this lag also occurs when you are using the YouTube app then it is likely caused by some form of corrupt system data. Wiping the cache partition of your phone usually helps in this matter.
If the issue persists then try to uninstall the app updates of the Facebook and YouTube app then check if the video lag issue still persists.
S5 Facebook App Location Tracking Delay
Problem: Whenever I go to Nearby Friends on Facebook, it seems to always “lock up” the location of whom I am wanting to track/follow. It shows my friend in a location from several hours ago. How do I have a more updated location on my friend?
Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the Facebook app and see if this helps. If the problem persists then this could be an issue on the part of Facebook. The servers may be sending you a delayed data on your friend’s location.
