Note 4 Not Receiving Group Text Message

Problem: My phone stopped receiving texts in a group message with 2 specific iPhones. Their individual messages come through fine, their phones receive a text from me to the group, and I’ve never had an issue with another group message.

Solution: One factor that could lead to this issue is that both iPhones may be sending a group text message as an iMessage and not as an SMS. You should delete the group text message then start a new one. Make sure to inform the iPhone owners to send a group text using SMS and not iMessage. It’s easy to differentiate between the two. An iMessage will be using a blue text bubble with the word “iMessage” displayed in the text entry field. An SMS will have a green text bubble  with the word “text message” displayed in the text entry field.

Note 4 Delay In Receiving Group Text Message

Problem: When in a group text it is taking sometimes up to 15 min after the text is sent for my device to receive it. This is a issue with all types of smartphones that text are being sent to me. What can I do about this?

Related Problem: My text messages are delayed. Group messages especially are sometimes 15- 30 minutes delayed. This really just started to affect my phone recently.

Solution: One possible reason why you are receiving delayed group text messages id that your messaging app has several message threads saved. This large amount of data may slow down the app and cause a delay in receiving group text messages. Try deleting some of your old text messages first and see if this resolves the problem.

Sometimes, the message app can have some corrupt temporary data which can cause this type of problem. If this is the case then you should clear the cache and data of your text messaging app.

The network signal also plays a vital role in the timely delivery of group text messages. Since the group message uses a mobile data connection you should check if the mobile data signal that you have is stable and strong. Try opening a website using your phone browser and see if it opens quickly. If it opens the website slowly or if you get a timeout error then you may have found the cause of the problem.

Try going to a different area and see if the same issue exists. By transferring to a different area your phone gets connected to a different cellular tower which may provide a stronger and more stable signal.

There are also instances when an app installed in your phone can cause the delay in the receiving of group text messages. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode. If the messages arrive on time in this mode then the problem is most likely caused by an app installed in your device. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then you should consider backing up your phone data and doing a factory reset.

Note 4 Text Message Takes Too Long To Send Receive

Problem: My texts have been taking forever to send and receive. Also my battery is dying within hours. Please help me fix my phone.

Solution: Let’s first tackle the text message issue. When was the last time you restarted your phone? If you haven’t done it in some time now then I suggest you restart your phone first. This resets your phone connection to the network and could resolve this issue. Once your phone is turned on you should check if it is getting a good signal. If your signal is low or non-existent then this could be causing the problem.

The next thing to troubleshoot if the issue still persists is your text messaging app. To check if the app is causing the problem try using a different app in texting. Since your phone has Hangouts try using this in sending a text message. If you are not experiencing a delay in sending or receiving a text message then the problem may be with the previous messaging app you used. Try clearing the cache and data of this app. It’s also best to follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.

If the problem still occurs even if using the Hangouts app or if the problem persists after clearing the cache and data of the messaging app then I recommend you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

For the battery life issue you are experiencing I suggest you try replacing your phone battery with a new one. The battery you are using may already be faulty.

Note 4 Screen Magnifies When Texting

Problem: My phone screen continues to get bigger every time I texting. The screen magnifies.

Solution: Try to check if the magnification gesture of your phone is enabled. If it is then disable it. You can do this by going to Settings – Accessibility – Magnification Gestures.

Note 4 Receives MMS Out Of Sequence

Problem: When  I get a mms message from a cricket phone I get it out of sequence, I shows up a day earlier.

Solution: This issue is usually caused by a misconfigured time setting of your phone. Make sure to set the date and time to automatic. Do the same for time zone. Once both settings are set to automatic you should be getting your MMS in correct order.

Note 4 Text Messages Disappearing

Problem: When I text after I send they disappear on my screen but send. When I receive text they don’t show up. I’ve tried everything I can find on the Internet.

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of your messaging app first and see if this resolves the problem. Follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone. If you have several old messages in your phone then it’s best to make a backup of these messages then delete them.

Have you noticed if this problem occured after you installed a specific app? That app may be causing the problem. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are loaded while apps you download are disabled. If the text message does not disappear in this mode then this issue is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still persists then I recommend you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Cannot Send Picture Message

Problem: my wife just bought a samsung note 4 unlocked she turned it on with metropcs she can receive pictures but cant send them what can i do?

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app first. Follow this up by wiping the cache partition of the phone  then try sending a picture message.

If the problem persists then check if you have an active mobile data subscription. You should also make sure to enable the mobile data switch of the phone.

Finally, make sure that the phone has the correct MetroPCS APN settings.
