Customers of the #LGG4 will be pleased to know that #LG will officially begin sending out the #Android 6.0 #Marshmallow update to the smartphone next week. This makes LG the first manufacturer to actually send out the update to a non-Nexus device, while the likes of HTC, Sony, Motorola etc have promised to send out updates to their devices subsequently.
This is almost a repeat of last year when LG was the first OEM to send out the Android 5.0 update. It is said that the updates will be sent out starting in Poland, with other markets set to follow suit. We’re guessing the Marshmallow update has been in testing for quite some time now and since the device features the same chipset as the Nexus 5X, compatibility was never going to be a concern.
If you own a carrier variant of the LG G4, be aware that the update might be slightly delayed and probably won’t appear right away. In any case, you should have Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on your G4 before most rival offerings.
