While we’re currently seeing curved display smartphones in the industry, the trend could shift dramatically by next year if reports are to be believed. A Korean news outlet is suggesting that both #Samsung and #LG are looking to fast track the production of their respective foldable display smartphones and should be hitting the markets sometime next year.
Samsung’s foldable display handset is currently codenamed Project Valley and has made its way to the news cycle a couple of times before. As for LG, it is said that the company is capable of mass producing these panels, although durability is still said to be a concern for the company. But with testing already underway, we should expect the devices to be ready in time for the release next year.
The display industry is clearly moving pretty quickly and we can’t wait to see what juggernauts like LG and Samsung have to offer for the industry. The two Korean manufacturers have been neck and neck in the display industry although Samsung is quite comfortably in the lead among the two. But given the nature of the business, it doesn’t take a lot for that to change.
