#Xiaomi has just released the Mi 4c smartphone for the Chinese markets sporting a more than decent hardware specs sheet. The handset has been in the leaks and rumors for quite some time now and it’s good to see that the device has finally gone official. The company is yet to announce global availability for the device, but knowing Xiaomi, it will probably remain an exclusive to China for the foreseeable future.
As for the hardware specs sheet, the Mi 4c comes with a 5 inch 1080p display on board, the hexa core Snapdragon 808 SoC, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, 2 or 3GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage (no microSD card slot), Android 5.0 with MIUI 6 (upgradable to MIUI 7) and a 3,080 mAh battery underneath.
The smartphone will cost 1,299 CNY ($204) if you pick the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage option. The top end model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage will cost 1,499 CNY ($235), which is quite reasonable given the hardware on board. The company has promised to send out an update to the newer MIUI 7 OS based on Android 5.1 over the coming weeks.
