Sony now sending out the Android 5.1.1 update to older Xperia devices

Xperia Z

#Android 5.1 is no longer the hottest update to hit the devices, given that it’s already available in a wide range of devices globally. However, some older smartphones and tablets are still waiting in line to receive the update. Sony’s #XperiaZ lineup is one among them, but thankfully for the users, the wait is finally over as the company has started sending out the update to a variety of older Xperia Z series smartphones including the Xperia ZL, the #XperiaTabletZ, the #XperiaZR as well as the #XperiaZ.

The update is currently seeding out gradually and will not reflect on all devices right away, so users are urged to remain patient if they don’t see an update notification popping up on their device right away. The Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and the Xperia Tablet Z were all released in 2013, so they’re not exactly new devices. But it’s good to see that Sony is still committed to sending out updates to older and relatively outdated devices as well.

Are you an owner of either of the aforementioned devices? Sound off below.
