Google just wrapped up their event from earlier today where they introduced a multitude of new products, including the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow release date, the new Pixel C tablet, and two new Chromecast devices. Only the Chromecast devices are currently available for order for delivery, and they are on sale right now.
Google has updated the original Chromecast to have a new design and have better specs. The new Chromecast now includes support for 802.11ac WiFi and 5 GHz networks, and faster connections from phone or tablet to the Chromecast. The new video Chromecast costs the same as the original, being only $35.
In addition to updating the original, Google has also released a Chromecast for Audio. This device makes it so any existing speaker can be able to receive Chromecast commands. So if you have a speaker that isn’t wireless, this is a very good option if the Moto Stream doesn’t float your boat of being Bluetooth only. The new Chromecast for audio is also $35.
Both devices can be ordered right now on the Google Store and will be coming to retail soon. Those retail stores for the TV version will be Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Staples. The speaker version will be available at Best Buy and Walmart soon as well. Will you be picking up a new Chromecast for either your TV or speakers?
