If a new leaked render is anything to go by, #Amazon could be prepping the release of the #FireTablet in a 10 inch form factor. The render was leaked by renowned leakster @evleaks a.k.a Evan Blass on Twitter. If true, this would be the company’s first attempt at the large sized tablet as its largest offering was the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9.
Interestingly, the leak shows that the user interface is very identical to stock Android, which further indicates that the company might resort to using a stock version of Android instead of going with the Fire OS UI layer.
The company’s custom UI has been criticized in the past for lacking some of core Android’s features. However, it’s still too early to tell if the company will release the device at all as we only have this press render to go with. There’s no word on the hardware specifications of the tablet, but it seems like Amazon will target this for the midrange segment when and if it is released. The company is also expected to release a $50 tablet with a 6 inch display, right in time for the holiday season, which has sparked off some excitement as well.
