S4 Unfortunately Touchwiz Has Stopped Error

Problem: Hi there I am having trouble with my Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 android version 5.0.1. Everything was fine till two days ago I started getting this message come up on my phone saying unfortunately explore has stopped do you want to stop it I always press stop. The message keeps coming at least 10 or more times so I factory reseted first thinking this would help but it didn’t.  Now I unfortunately touch wiz home has stopped so I press stop. My phone then crashes it won’t let me select anything on my screen except it let’s me pull down the status bar at the top of the screen but the touchscreen wouldn’t work so I end up turning my phone off and on again. When it comes on it works again till the next time message comes up.Ive tried resetting by turning off phone n pressing volume ect cleared the app data n cache and motions gestures off app all and reset app defaults i also put phone in safe mode. I’ve also tried my phone with sd card in and without and it does it either way .i did download a weird movie the other day called Christiane f I was looking for an English version I found a site and it did say if I opened the download it could be a virus but I did anyway cause I thought it’d be OK as I have lookout installed could that be why? This did seem to start happening around then.  I’m at the end of my tether now I don’t know what to do my phone is my life I’d be lost without it. People keep saying that it’s happens to them since the lollypop update but I don’t think that’s the case with me cause I updated to lollypop a month ago and had no problems till now. Please help me I don’t know why this is happening I need help bad cause it seems to be getting worse and it crashes all the time now. If there’s anything you know that could help me please tell me I’d appreciate it so much. Thank you. Look forward to hearing back from you.

Solution: If this issue occurred after you downloaded the movie file to your phone then this may the cause of the problem.

Here’s what you need to do, take out your phone microSD card then back up your phone data. Once the backup has completed do a factory reset.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

After the factory reset has completed do not insert the microSD card. Try to check your phone first and see if the issue still occurs.

S4 Unfortunately Apps Have Stopped

Problem: My phone keep saying unfortunately, apps or things that are running has stopped. I had my phone flash thinking that would have corrected the problem but the phone begins to freeze and when i remove the battery and put it back in to restart it does restart. I have to do the process of removing the battery about 4 times.

Solution: You mentioned that you has your phone flashed. Did you flash it using the original stock firmware or with a custom ROM? If your phone freezes a lot then you should double check the version of the firmware that you flashed on your device. There are different firmware versions available for the different versions of the S4 and it is important to install the version that is compatible with your device. Installing a different firmware on your phone may lead to issues such as this.

If you are using the correct firmware version and the problem still persists then I suggest you try wiping the cache partition of your phone first.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  • When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select. The phone will automatically restart after the cache is wiped.

If the problem persists then backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

S4 Unfortunately Samsung Keyboard Has Stopped

Problem: “unfortunately, Samsung keyboard has stopped” keeps on popping on, my phone. I can’t type a message. Hope you’ll help me with this problem.

Solution: For this issue you should try clearing the cache and data of the Samsung keyboard app.

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Application manager.
  • Swipe to the All screen
  • Tap the desired application
  • Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  • Tap Clear cache.

S4 Unfortunately Clock Has Stopped

Problem: My clock app keeps “Unfortunately” stopping lately. When I go in to set an alarm, it frequently kicks me out. Eventually, if I do get an alarm set and it kicks me out afterwards, my alarm will often not even go off. Not too handy. It doesn’t seem like this is an issue that many are having, as I couldn’t find any tips about it online. Any suggestions of what to try? Some apps allow you to send an error when these types of messages come up but that isn’t an option on this one.

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of your clock app as this usually helps in this type of issue.

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Application manager.
  • Swipe to the All screen
  • Tap the desired application
  • Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  • Tap Clear cache.
