T-Mobile has released the new ZTE Obsidian smartphone through its retail channels with an asking price of just $99.99. The handset can also be bought on a monthly installment plan of $4.17 for a period of 2-years, which is a viable option if you don’t want to make the payment in one go.
As for the hardware, the Obsidian comes with a 4.5 inch 480 x 854 resolution display, a 5-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 1,980 mAh battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Clearly this isn’t the best handset in terms of internal hardware, but given the price tag quoted by the carrier, the Obsidian will appeal to a large number of customers across the U.S. ZTE has been launching multiple midrange handsets in the U.S., increasing its presence in the process.
