Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact next month at the IFA event in Berlin. A few days ago, we came across a leak from the manufacturer which revealed that the two devices would be packing fingerprint scanners. This leak is slightly different, in that it only shows the bottom portion and the right hand side of the smartphone.
The side portion of the two handsets are shown to be sporting a power button, the volume rocker and a camera shutter key, which is standard on all Sony flagships. The original leak revealed that Sony would be utilizing the fingerprint scanner on the right side (power button), which seems to be a wise choice compared to what we’ve seen from other manufacturers.
The second image shows us the two handsets from the bottom angle, revealing the micro USB port. This is mildly disappointing for the fans as a USB Type-C connector was expected on the handset.
There’s not much we can tell from this leak, but previous reports have mentioned that the Xperia Z5 won’t be too different from past Sony flagships in terms of design, so we’re not expecting this to look any different from the Xperia Z3 or the Xperia Z4.
