Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset has already made its way to the leaks, even though the SoC is yet to be officially revealed by the company. A new report now claims that the chip could be shown off as soon as next week at a dedicated event in Los Angeles.
This report which originates from China suggests that the chip will be unveiled officially on the 11th of August, with no further details available at this moment. Qualcomm is rumored to be using a 3.0 GHz CPU with the Snapdragon 820, utilizing a 64-bit architecture.
The all important question however is whether Qualcomm will manage to avoid a repeat of the overheating issues of the Snapdragon 810. This is one of the primary reasons why the company is said to be fast forwarding the rollout of the Snapdragon 820. Although several top manufacturers are using Snapdragon 810 with their devices, there are significant sacrifices made which are supposedly hindering the experience.
We’ll wait curiously until August 11 for more word on the new Snapdragon 820 SoC.
