#LG has already released its flagship for the year, the #G4. However, the CEO of LG, Joon-Ho Cho has mentioned that the company will release yet another flagship offering later this year, possibly in the fourth quarter. The executive refrained from giving a precise release date for the device, but it is possible that the company will look to have the device in the market in time for the holiday season.
While not giving away much of the surprise, the CEO did mention that this will be a “super premium phone”, which is a vague term really and leaves much to be desired. While it’s unlikely that this device will be the LG G5, earlier reports have hinted that LG could be looking to bring back its G Pro series of smartphones, starting with the G Pro 3.
Nothing is set in stone at the moment, so we suggest you take this report with a large grain of salt. As we mentioned in a previous post, LG’s G4 flagship has been somewhat neglected in the mobile industry, given the timing of its release.
Now with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ hitting the markets, it will be even harder for LG to market the G4. So a device like the G Pro 3 could be the remedy for this. The company is also expected to reveal the 2015 Nexus 5 later this year, so it seems like we’ll get to see a lot more of LG this year.
