Reports have given us plenty of details about the LG Nexus smartphone as well as the upcoming Huawei made Nexus phablet. While Huawei’s Nexus handset was said to be packing a fingerprint scanner, we hadn’t heard the same about LG’s offering. But that changes today as a new report from South Korea tells us that LG’s Nexus phone will also be packing a fingerprint sensor underneath.
A few months ago, we came across a demo video posted by Google which explained how fingerprint scanning would work with Android phones. For this purpose, the demonstrator used a red Nexus 5 handset with a built-in fingerprint scanner. This gave rise to speculation that LG would release a new version of the Nexus 5 with a fingerprint scanner.
It’s very likely that LG will implement the sensor on its Nexus device in similar fashion, so we might already have a good idea of what to expect. The recently leaked cases of the LG Nexus phone has also revealed a mysterious third slot on the back cover, suggesting that the company would use a back facing sensor.
