Note 4 Fast Charge Feature Not Working

Problem: My phone won’t fast charge since installing lollipop. I brought a new oem charger from Samsung and still no difference. It’s checked on but shaded out. Please help if you can

Solution: Fast charging on the Note 4 works when certain conditions are met. First, the fast charging switch in your phone must be turned on. In this case it looks like it already is since you mentioned there is a check mark over it.

  • Go to Settings > General
  • Tap on Battery.
  • Check “Fast charging”.

Check your new charger and make sure that it has an output of 2A. This charges the phone faster than a typical 1A charger. You should also try swapping the USB cord you are using to charge your phone with a new one that’s suitable for fast charging.

Finally, since this issue occurred right after you updated your phone to Lollipop, this may be caused by some form of corrupt data. You will need to back up your phone data then d a factory reset.

  • Turn off the phone. If the phone will not turn off, remove and re-insert the battery.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power and Home key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up keys.
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device

Note 4 Stops Charging On Its Own

Problem: Lately when I connect my phone to the charger it starts charging then all of a sudden it stops charging on its own it gets disconnected…. same goes when I connect it to the laptop… I took my phone to a shop I thought it’s the charging dock but it wasn’t… and neither is the charger.

Solution: Try charging your phone by leaving it on a flat surface undisturbed and see if it stops charging. I it doesn’t then some movement may be making the phone to stop charging which may be caused by a defective USB cord. I suggest replacing the USB cord with a new one then check if your phone now charges properly.

If the problem still persists then try replacing your phone battery with a new one. Before doing so, you may as well try doing a factory reset on your phone to eliminate any software related problems that may be causing this issue. Make sure to back up your phone data first before proceeding.

Note 4 Charges Very Slow

Problem: My phone only recognizes power from usb. This makes my phone charge terribly slow. When I plug my phone into a wall outlet the phone still thinks its plugged into a USB outlet. I’ve tried different chargers, hard reset, and plugging the charger in in different ways. The first time I had this problem I sent the phone back and got a new one. It worked fine for about 2 weeks and then the same problem happened again. The first time this problem happen my phone worked correctly for about 1 month, and then the problem began. The charge is so slow that if the screen is on and the phone is plugged in the battery will drain. I must leave the phone plugged in overnight in order to fully charge. Adaptive fast charger does not work either.

Solution: Several owners of this phone have also been complaining of the slow charge issue. Since this phone has a 3220 mAh battery it will definitely take some time to charge it if a USB is used. Your issue however is different since you mentioned that when the screen is on and the phone is charging it will still drain. This means that the power usage is greater than the power input.

What you will need to do first is to determine if there are apps installed in your phone that may be causing this issue. If these apps are running in the background then they are using system resources and will drain your battery. To check if this is the case you need to back up your phone data then do a factory reset.

After the factory reset do not install anything yet in your phone. Instead, go ahead and charge it. Make sure to use the original Samsung charger that came with your phone as well as the original USB cord. You should also ensure that the fast charging feature of your phone is enabled.

  • Go to Settings > General
  • Tap on Battery.
  • Check “Fast charging”.

Note 4 Turns Off During Charging

Problem: More less from june when the battery reach the 30/40%, the fone swishes off after a small vibration . When I try to switch it on , is not doing it at all . so i charge the battery as is showing 0 % …could you help or it a problem from this kind of fone ?

Solution: I suggest using a new battery on your phone as the one you are using may already have an issue. You should also make sure that the charger you are using is working properly and that the USB cable does not have any defects.
