Since T-Mobile announced their “Mobile Without Borders” plan a few months ago, the other carriers have been scrambling to compete. AT&T is now bringing their own offering to customers on GoPhone plans.
If you are on the $60 per month plan, you will be able to get unlimited texts and calls for free when visiting Canada or Mexico. You will also get 4 GB of high-speed data for free. However, in AT&T’s case, high-speed means 3G speeds, not LTE.
If you use AT&T’s Auto Refill feature for paying your monthly bill, the cost will go down to $55 per month instead of $60. $5 per month may not sound like a lot, but it does add up over time. These changes all go into effect starting August 21st.
So if you’re on select GoPhone plans, you’ll be able to travel to Canada and Mexico without fear of getting a sudden bill increase when you get home. What do you think of the changes AT&T is making to their prepaid and postpaid plans?
