ZTE’s Axon Phone was released in China earlier today, while the handset was first unveiled in the U.S. The company has taken us all by surprise today as it also uncovered a new smartwatch, simply known as the Axon Watch, meant for the Chinese markets. The company also unveiled the Spro 2 Projector earlier today for China, which was launched earlier this year in the U.S.
The Axon Watch is not running on Android Wear unfortunately and features a custom Tencent OS, so you won’t be able to leverage the vast amount of content available on Google’s dedicated wearable platform. The smartwatch also comes with a 1.4 inch display with a sapphire coating. Other features include 512MB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.1 support, 4GB of internal storage and a 300 mAh battery, which should last a day on a full charge.
The wearable comes with support for a wide range of gestures along with some of the essential tasks like making/receiving phone calls, reading messages, notifications and also tracking your fitness vitals. There’s no word on the pricing of the Axon Watch at the moment, but we’ve been told that it will be an exclusive to China for now.
