Sprint and Virgin Mobile are bringing LG’s Tribute 2 and Tribute Duo smartphones to their networks respectively. The two handsets are budget offerings, so don’t get your hopes up as far as the hardware specifications are concerned.
Both smartphones have been priced at $99.99, which is an excellent price for devices of this caliber. The Tribute 2 and the Tribute Duo are different only in name and feature identical specs sheet underneath, so it seems like LG wanted to give the devices different names to make them unique to the carriers.
As for the hardware, the Tribute 2 and the Tribute Duo feature a 4.5 inch 480 x 854 resolution display, a 1.2 GHz quad core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable), a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front shooter, Android 5.1 Lollipop and a 1,900 mAh battery. There are some attractive plans on offer here with Sprint Prepaid and Virgin Mobile, so you won’t end up shelling out a lot every month.
LG has been quite active in the budget smartphone segment and it’s good to see that the manufacturer is rolling out more devices for the U.S. market. You can catch more details from Sprint’s press release below.
