Maker of the world’s first secure Android phone, Silent Circle has just released the second generation model of the Blackphone, aptly named the Blackphone 2. In making this handset, the company has partnered with Google and its new Android for Work platform, making it the first device to be part of the program. This will bring a suite of security features while also introducing a bunch of work oriented programs, meant for efficient functioning of organizations and people.
The Blackphone 2 comes with Silent OS, which is a forked version of Android with a bunch of security features bundled to make sure your internet presence remains anonymous.
“Privacy is about being able to decide and control what information to share and how you share it,” said Bill Conner, President and CEO of Silent Circle. “We’re delighted to join the Android for Work program. It’s a significant step forward in Silent Circle’s development which enables us to deliver privacy and security to a broader enterprise customer base, while meeting their need for the wide-ranging apps and services provided by Google.”
