Continuing with their Uncarrier Amped new changes, T-Mobile has launched a new service today, Mobile Without Borders. This lets anyone who lives in the US travel to Canada and Mexico and have no changes in their bills, whether it be for calls, texts, or data.
Previously, if you went outside of the US to these two countries, you could use unlimited text messages, have your data throttled to 2G speeds, and calls would be 20 cents per minute. Now there is no difference between any of these three countries. Even data is covered, letting you get 4G LTE speeds directly from your existing home pool of data. So if you have unlimited data, this could be a boon for you.
This new offer launches on July 15th and will be available automatically for new customers for free. Existing customers can upgrade either in-store, online, or over the phone. If you don’t want to change your existing plan, you can still get Mobile Without Borders for an additional $10 per month. This applies to businesses too, and they only have to pay $1 per line if they have more than 10 lines.
You can see the full list of covered cities in Mexico and Canada here. Does this benefit any of you? Will you be upgrading or switching?
