S3 Screen Not Responding

Problem: It happened five days ago, I was trying to call a taxi but when i tried to swipe my phone to unlock it, the screen is not responding at all no matter which angle i swiped. so i took out the battery and insert it again and it works but then after few hours when i got a message same thing happen and it goes on and on and so today i factory reset it but before that i did that TSP DOT test and GRID test of samsung , it was okay that’s why i factory reset my phone but now it’s going crazy even i took out the battery loong time its not respong now , i have lots of messages coming i couldn’t open them and top of it all there is this icon on the notifications bar that indicates downloading but i don’t know what since it just shiws right away even when i turned off my wifi and mobile data/ Thanks in advance

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card? Make sure to take out the microSD card of your phone if you have one installed. If this card is faulty it may cause the freezing issue you are having right now.

Try to start your phone in Safe Mode to check if a third party app installed in your phone is causing this issue.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When ‘Samsung Galaxy S III’ appears on the screen, release the Power key Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • ‘Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If the issue still persists even in Safe Mode then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center as this may already be a hardware related problem.

S3 Delay In Screen Wake Up Time

Problem: Hi. I never had this problem before. My phone was turning off for no reason so I reinstalled the software to its formal form. The problem with turning off was solved but another occurred. Whenever I want to use the phone I press either the home button or the power button for the phone to wake up and have to wait for about 6-7 seconds for the screen to lighten up. And every time it’s like this. The screen wakes up only after 6 to 10 seconds (I’ve counted!) Please help me solve this problem.

Solution: In most cases like this it is usually corrupt temporary data that’s the culprit. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone and see if this resolves the issue.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  • When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  • With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

You should also try taking out the microSD card of your phone if you have one installed. A faulty card means that the phone will have a hard time accessing the data stored in it which may lead to the screen lag issue that you are facing.

Another factor that may be causing this issue is a certain third party app. Start your phone in Safe Mode to check if this is the case.

If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is likely caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

S3 Camera Opens When Swiping From Lock Screen

Problem: Hi. i am having problem with my screen.when the screen is locked and i want to unlock it by swipe it the camera opens! this is happening many times.thx for your time

Solution: You may have activated the quick camera setting of your phone. This allows you to launch the camera from the lock screen. Try to deactivate this feature and see if this helps.

  • Pull down the Notification drawer
  • Touch the Settings icon (or touch the Settings app icon)
  • Scroll down to Security and tap
  • Tap on Lock screen options
  • Toggle the switch next to Camera quick access to the OFF position

S3 White Line In Display

Problem: I have  only had.my phone a few weeks..this white line runs through the center top top to bottom…I have checked so much I don’t know what to check..help PLEASE

Solution: You should immediately check if this issue is caused by your phone software by backing up your phone data and doing a factory reset.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

If the problem still occurs after the factory reset then the issue may be with the display. Have this checked at an authorized service center. You may need to replace the display of your phone.
