Note 4 Apps Unresponsive

Problem: Been having issues with my phones apps go unresponsive and it’s not one certain app it’s different ones. 2nd question have a note 3 the phone comes on and talks to you but screen is black.

Solution: Regarding your apps being unresponsive you should first try to restart your phone to eliminate any temporary software glitches. When your phone is turned off remove the microSD card if you have one installed. Make sure to leave the card out of your phone for the duration of the troubleshooting process.

If after your phone boots up the problem still persists then your next step is to check if a third party app installed in your phone is causing this issue by starting your phone in Safe Mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power and Volume down key.
  • Release the Power key when the Samsung logo appears but continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.

Try to run some apps and see if they are still unresponsive. If the problem disappears then it may be caused by a third party app. Find out what app is causing this to occur and uninstall it.

If however you are still experiencing the same issue even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

  • Turn off the phone. If the phone will not turn off, remove and re-insert the battery.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power and Home key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up keys.
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device

Regarding the issue with your Note 3 the Talk Back feature may be enabled. You need to disable this by following the steps listed below.

  • Get to your Home screen.
  • From the Home screen, pull down the notification panel.
  • Tap on the notification that says, TalkBack has been turned on.
  • Double tap on the notification that says, TalkBack has been turned on.
  • From the Accessibility options, scroll your way down until you get to the TalkBack option.
  • Tap on TalkBack option.
  • Double tap on TalkBack option.
  • Tap on the switch button.
  • Double tap on the switch button to turn TalkBack mode off.
  • Confirm the action by double tapping on the OK button.
  • You have successfully turned off TalkBack mode on your Galaxy Note 3.

Note 4 Freezes

Problem: Hey Droid guy, my phone freezes. I don’t have any game apps download. The first time it happen I was trying to get out the Internet and my screen just went black.  Than it came back on. Today, I just touch my home key , it froze and finally came back on by itself. Can you help me figure out why?

Solution: This issue may be caused by some form of corrupt temporary data. The first thing you need to do in this case is to wipe the cache partition of your phone.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Remove the microSD card if you have one installed.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power and Home key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key.
  • Continue holding the Volume Up key until the Android System Recovery menu displays and then release. This step may take several seconds.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

Note 4 Lagging Issue

Problem: Dear Droidguy, Thank You Helping so Many Users around the world. I am big fan of Note Series and have used all the note so far but to my bad Note 4 is the worst of all “it might not be but i am facing so many issues” Lags Lags Lags it lags so much that i am ashamed to give it to someone to use because whenever i play game it lags camera lags gallery lags I have tried to clear cache partition done a factory reset clear cache but nothing has happened so far. Antutu Benchmark comes around 48000. I have checked whether it is fake note 4 but it is original one. Why does it lags and heat up so much when i don’t have many applications installed. What should i do ? My note is unrooted.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD installed? If it has try to remove it and check if your phone still lags. If the lag disappears then you may have a faulty microSD. Try to replace this with a new one.

If the issue still persists then you should consider bringing your phone to an authorized service center since this may already be a hardware related problem.

Note 4 Music Lags

Problem: Hi, I want to ask you about something that has been bothering me for the past couple of weeks. One day, I was playing music, and the music glitches (stops for half a second and then plays again), like there’s a tick or lags. Do you have any solution for this problem? Thank you for your time.

Solution: This issue may be caused by a glitch in your music player app. You should clear the cache and data of the app then check if the problem still occurs.

  • From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Scroll to ‘APPLICATIONS,’ then tap Application manager.
  • Swipe to the ALL screen.
  • Tap the desired application
  • Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  • Tap Clear cache.

If the music still lags then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone.

Another factor to consider in this case is a faulty microSD. If your music files are saved in the microSD card and this card has a problem then it may result to the issue you are facing right now. Try using a different microSD on your phone and see if this resolves the issue.
