Note 3 Google Play Music Error Occurred

Problem: 1st problem, Google Play Music works fine until I hit the “”play video”” button in the middle of the song graphics. The song stops like it is suppose to, but the video never plays with the following message “”an error occurred””. This happens EVERYTIME I hit the play video button on every song title with the button. 2nd problem. I thought a system reset would fix it. So I reset, saving my downloads and apps. Now the from the home screen, actually any screen, when I go to settings I don’t have the lollipop tabs but rather a LONG menu with everything listed. It is broken down similar to the tabs but without the “”general”” tab info. Please help me.

Solution: You may have an issue with the current version of the Google Play Music app that you are using. Try to check if the app has any new updates and get them. If no updates are available this time then you should try to uninstall the app updates for this app then check if the issue still persists.

You should also consider clearing the cache and data of the Google Play Music app.

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap the General tab.
  • Tap Application manager.
  • Swipe to the All screen.
  • Tap the desired application
  • Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  • Tap Clear cache.

As for the second issue your phone should have the general info tabs in settings if it is already running Lollipop. Try rebooting your phone and see if this resolves the issue.

Note 3 S Finder Launches On Its Own

Problem: S find, is there any way to turn this off as it is  constantly  self launching during the most inconvenient times.  Thank you very much for your help

Solution: Since S Finder is a built in feature in this device the only way you can turn it off is if you root your phone then freezing it, although I don’t suggest you root your phone. If it launches on its own then you should try wiping the cache partition of your phone and see if this resolves the issue.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key,Power key
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  • With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

If the issue persists try to start your phone in Safe Mode to check if a third party app is causing this behaviour.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • ‘Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If the S Finder does not launch on its own in this mode then the problem may be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Note 3 Play Store Opens Randomly

Problem: Play store opens randomly to games. Very annoying. Happens several times a day since Lollipop upgrade.

Solution: You may have previously clicked on an ad in a game or your phone browser causing this issue to occur. The quickest way to resolve this is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

Note 3 Switch Off Apps

Problem: I know you’re gonna tell me to uninstall a lot of my apps, cause I am aware that the amount of apps does make the phone slower, etc… But I need or will need most of these apps someday… Call me a hoarder… Haha… I need a way to switch off some apps and only let those apps I need to be running all the time, and when I need an app I could start it and stop it again afterwards… As well as switch off the starting of some apps at boot time… This is to hopefully improve battery life and performance… Can you suggest an app or something I could use to achieve this? Another question I have regarding this is, does widgets need the app to be running in the background? And push services? As soon as I disable some apps in this way, I could do a wake lock detecting to Uninstall those apps that gives problems… Thank you in advance.

Solution: You should try to take a look at the greenify app at the Google Play Store. This app allows you hibernate certain apps that you are not using  so your phone can run smoothly. As for your second question, the widgets need the app to be running for them to work.
