S2 Does Not Boot After Software Update

Problem: I upgraded my samsung note2 phone using the automatic upgrades you get occasionally, my phone got updated completely (100%) but did not boot again. it is dead now. is there any solution.

Solution: The first thing you should do is to connect your phone to a wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minute before turning it on.

If your phone does not turn on then remove the battery then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert the battery then try to turn on your phone.

If the issue still persists you should consider getting a new battery.

You should also try to wipe the cache partition of your phone and see if this resolves the problem.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold both Volume Up and Volume Down keys at the same time.
  • Press the Power key only until the phone vibrates once, then release only the Power key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume up and Volume Down keys until the Android System Recovery screen appears.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight wipe cache partition.
  • Press the Home or Power key to select.
  • Make sure Reboot System Now is highlighted and press the Home (or Power key to reboot.

S2 Does not Boot After Installing App

Problem: Soon as I downloaded Retailmenot.com my phone shut down and wouldn’t power up. For 2 days I have tried everything…charging it all night, powering off and on, soft mode, hard mode, reset…you name it. I took the SD card out of it as I thought that maybe I downloaded a virus. At times, the battery screen will come up showing that I have over half charge, then another time it will show  nothing. I need my phone for work tomorrow and I’m panicking! Please help. Thank you!!

Solution: Try getting a new battery on your phone. Make sure to charge it using the wall charger for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. If the problem persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center as this may already be a hardware related problem.

S2 Stuck In Download Mode

Problem: If I turn it off, the green dried man comes on and says do not turn of downloading. I have to take the battery out and back in several times to get it to come back on.

Solution: you mentioned that if you take out the battery a couple of times your turns back on. When this happens I suggest you backup your phone data. After backing up your data perform a factory reset.

  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight wipe data / factory reset.
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight Yes – Delete all user data.
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • Press the Power key to reboot.

S2 Does Not Turn On Unless Connected To Charger

Problem: I think my phone may have got wet but I don’t know. now it wont turn on unless its connected to my charger cord and wont charge unless it is turned off. and sometimes it has the red x over the network and wont turn on. and if I unplug it from the cord it automatically turns off, I factory reset it and it keeps doing it and when it is unplugged it flashes the Samsung note 2 logo then turns off then on again

Solution: Try using a new battery on your phone and see if this resolves the issue. If you suspect that your phone may have gotten wet then the internal hardware may have suffered from water damage. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
