The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ smartphones were rumored to be launching next month, while there was no specific mention of when. Today, that mystery gets solved thanks to a new leak coming from a reliable Samsung source. It is being said that the Korean manufacturer will unveil the two devices on the 12th of August with an announcement to follow shortly.
After announcing the device on the 12th, the company will supposedly bring it to the market in just 9 days i.e. on the August 21. So it seems like Samsung is really eager to ensure that the launch of its two flagships don’t coincide with the purported iPhone 6s and 6s Plus launch in September. We saw the Galaxy Note 4 being overshadowed by the two new iPhones last year and it’s good to see that the company is doing something to change that.
Another bit of good news is that Samsung will also supposedly bring Samsung Pay officially to the U.S. at about the same time, after being unveiled earlier this year. Unlike Apple Pay though, Samsung’s offering will support payments made via conventional magnetic stripe units as well, which will ensure that a large number of merchants are covered right from the start.
