The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and 9.7 were launched in the U.S. not too long ago. However, the tablets barely made any noise in the market, primarily due to their pricing. And in a bid to change that, Samsung has now announced a price reduction for both tablets, which will now set you back by $199.99 and $269.99 respectively.
This pricing makes a lot of sense, although we still think it’s priced highly considering the sort of competition that Samsung has to contend with in the tablet industry. However, the new pricing brings them well under the budget segment and that’s a welcome sign for the Korean manufacturer.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 comes with an 8 inch 1024 x 768 resolution display, while the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 sports a 9.7 inch panel of the same resolution. Both tablets come with an odd 4:3 aspect ratio. Other common specs include a quad core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 SoC, 16GB of internal storage (expandable), 1.5GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera on the back and Android 5.0 Lollipop. The 9.7 inch model comes with a large 6,000 mAh battery pack while the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 features a relatively smaller 4,200 mAh battery on board.
