Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 on AT&T jumping to Android 5.1.1 from KitKat

Galaxy Tab 4 10.1

We’ve seen manufacturers skipping an update to jump to the latest update before, and AT&T’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is the latest to do so. The tablet which was running on Android 4.4 KitKat up until earlier today has now started seeing an update notification for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, skipping Android 5.0 in the process.

This means the update will be quite massive for the users and will come with a revamped version of TouchWiz, which could improve performance to a great extent. The update is 926MB in size, so  you will have to connect your device to a functioning WiFi network and have at least 50% of the device’s battery left.

Once the update has been installed, the tablet will be running on build LMY47X.T537AUCU1BOG5. This is the very latest version of Android that is available from Google, so you can’t possibly do any better than this right now. With AT&T issuing the update to its variant, other carrier variants shouldn’t be far away.
