Samsung’s Galaxy A8 smartphone has now gone official, after being part of the leaks for quite some time. As the leaks indicated, the smartphone comes with a 5.9mm thick body coupled by a massive 5.7 inch display. Unfortunately, the smartphone appears to be limited to the Chinese markets for the time being with no word on a global release at this point.
The Galaxy A8 features a 5.7 inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 16-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front camera, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage (expandable), an octa core Snapdragon 615 SoC, Android 5.1 Lollipop and a 3,050 mAh battery under the hood, so the company has covered all its bases as far as the hardware is concerned.
It’s a little disappointing that the device is an exclusive to the Chinese markets for now, but we’re hopeful that Samsung will be mindful that a device like this could make a significant impact in any region, given its upper midrange hardware specs sheet. The company has failed to give out pricing information for the handset, but we predict it to cost somewhere around $300-350 mark when it is sold in the region.
