The OnePlus 2 is expected to come with a fingerprint scanner as we all know at this point. The company made this quite clear and also mentioned that it would be better than Apple’s Touch ID sensor from the iPhone. However, there was some mystery as to where this sensor will be placed by the manufacturer. And that question seems to have been answered now thanks to a certification listing on China’s TENAA.
The corresponding image in the listing reveals the presence of a physical hardware key on the bottom bezel of the handset, which looks eerily similar to Samsung’s implementation of the home button. It doesn’t take a genius to predict that this is where the fingerprint scanner will be located. Further, the back seems to be using the same pattern and quality of materials as last year although the placement of the camera sensor is slightly different this time around.
There’s another mysterious sensor underneath the camera, which we don’t know more about at this point. But considering that OnePlus is hosting the announcement of the OnePlus 2 in roughly five days from now, we don’t have to wait long to find out.
The right hand side has the customary volume rocker and the power button, while the left houses the SIM card tray. It is not known at this point as to whether the slot will fit two SIM cards, given that the OnePlus 2 is a dual SIM smartphone.
