One might think that flip phones are a thing of the past, but LG certainly doesn’t think so. The company has just released the LG Gentle handset, which appears to be a run of the mill flip handset but with Android 5.1 Lollipop on board.
The handset is packing a 3.2 inch display with a resolution of 480 x 320, a 3-megapixel camera on the back, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, Android 5.1 Lollipop, a 1,700 mAh battery and 4G LTE. The handset has a faux leather back panel, which gives it a premium look.
The Gentle is priced at 20 million Korean Won or $175, which is quite aggressive for a device of this caliber. LG has been relatively quiet about its arrival outside South Korea, so we’re guessing it might limited to the region for the foreseeable future.
We’ve seen Samsung launch something similar with its Galaxy Golden series, so it’s not a game changer from LG. But we’ve seen that such phones are quite expensive on the wallets, so it’s good to know that won’t be the case with this LG offering.
