The Huawei Nexus handset has been rumored to be in the making for quite some time now, but we never heard anything conclusive about the device up until now. But thanks to @evleaks on Twitter, we might have received our very first word on what to expect from the Chinese manufacturer with the new Nexus phablet.
Evan Blass, a.k.a. @evleaks mentioned on Twitter that the Huawei Nexus would sport a 5.7 inch Quad HD display on board, accompanied by the octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and a fingerprint scanner, indicating that the handset would be a beast as far as hardware specs are concerned.
He also mentioned that the handset will start shipping in Q4 of 2015, which is when Google releases the Nexus flagship of the year. Of course, this is early info for now, but given the track record from this renowned leakster, we have no reason to discredit this new revelation.
Google has obviously been tight lipped about the project, so it seems like leaks and rumors will be our only source of information for the months to come. The Huawei Nexus phone will be released along with a LG made Nexus smartphone with a smaller display according to multiple reports, so Google will have more than one Nexus handset in the markets this year.
