Developer Nicolas Pomepuy has just released an app called Wear Mini Launcher for your Android Wear smartwatch, which is a comprehensive solution to bringing the apps from your watch and the settings from your smartphone in one place.
Although there are several other apps for Android Wear that bring Quick Settings to the smaller form factor, this one deserves special mention for the kind of features it brings to the table, in addition to letting you customize the background.
To pull up the app drawer on your wearable, all you have to do is swipe from the top left to right where you can find the apps installed on your wearable. Although the list might not be large here, it’s certainly an easier way to access wearable apps. While in the app drawer, swiping to the left again will give you access to Quick Settings (barring Bluetooth for obvious reasons). You can find a dedicated WiFi hotspot key, WiFi, volume controls as well as buttons to set your phone on vibrate, loud or priority notifications mode.
An alarm bell icon is present here that can ring the notification tone on your device, letting you find it if you’ve lost it somewhere in the house. There’s also a phone battery indicator within the Quick Settings, so you can check your phone’s battery status without even needing to take it out of your pocket.
What’s better is that the app is a free download from the Play Store. Sold to the idea yet? Head over to the link below to get it on your wearable. The app is compatible with round faced and conventional square faced smartwatches as well.
