AT&T began sending out the Android 5.1.1 update for the 2013 Moto X recently. But according to a new revelation, the carrier has ceased the rollout of the update due to some issues with the ROM. However, the carrier or Motorola are yet to provide any further details on why this is happening. The carrier has merely mentioned that the update is suspended temporarily, so any new information will have to come directly from AT&T.
This means that users of the AT&T Moto X will have to live with Android 4.4 KitKat for a little while longer until AT&T and/or Motorola figure out what the issues are here. The update was supposed to bring Lollipop to the device for the first time, so this is quite unfortunate news for owners of the smartphone.
Other variants of the 2013 Moto X have received the Android 5.1 update, so we’re guessing it’s an issue that AT&T needs to look into, which shouldn’t take long to fix.
