The Sony Xperia C4 smartphone has officially started shipping out to the customers, according to a statement issued by the company. Sony has mentioned that the device is shipping globally, starting with Asia-Pacific markets, with no specific mention of the U.S. quite yet. Although the company claims that other markets will follow suit soon.
For those unaware, the Xperia C4 is a selfie oriented smartphone and in the company’s words is the “world’s best selfie smartphone“. The likes of the HTC Desire Eye and the newly launched ASUS ZenFone Selfie might think otherwise though.
The Xperia C4 comes with a 5.5 inch 1080p display, an octa core Mediatek MT6752 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable), Android 5.0 Lollipop and a 2,600 mAh battery. Since the camera is all the focus here with the Xperia C4, Sony has used a 5-megapixel front facing camera accompanied by a single LED flash, much like its predecessor. The back comes with a 13-megapixel sensor and is capable of 4K video recording.
The smartphone isn’t water or dust resistant like a range of other Sony devices, which is a bit of a letdown for the fans. Will you pick the Sony Xperia C4 over the Desire Eye or the ZenFone Selfie if given the choice? Sound off below.
