Samsung is expected to reveal the Gear A wearable later this year, probably during the same time as the Galaxy Note 5 announcement. A new report has now hinted that the device might also feature support for Samsung Pay out of the box, letting you make super quick mobile payments without requiring to flip out your smartphone.
This is something that the Apple Watch has by default with Apple Pay, so it’s not much of a surprise that Samsung decided to take inspiration from it. Although the report comes from a Korean source, it doesn’t specify if this wearable is in fact the Gear A. But since there aren’t any other top end Samsung wearables in the pipeline, we’re bound to believe this is what they’re talking about.
Rumors and early sketches have revealed that the smartwatch will pack a circular display with a rotating dial, which could be an interesting feature to look out for in a wearable. We’ll keep our ears peeled for more details on the Gear A as and when they become available.
