Samsung now sending the Android 5.1.1 update for the global Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge

Galaxy S6

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 5.1.1 update for the global variants of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge starting today. This means that American carrier variants of the smartphone shouldn’t be far away from getting the update. T-Mobile USA however has already begun the rollout of the update about a week ago.

Android 5.1.1 brings a handful of changes pertaining to stock Android and comes with a couple of features from Samsung’s end as well. One of them is the manual exposure control in the camera, which gives you the ability to make your photos look even better. The parallax wallpaper feature is also present with this new update, so you will notice a handful of new features here.

Unlocked international variants should see the update over the coming days, while some carriers might take their sweet time to send it out. But it’s reassuring to know that Samsung has already begun the rollout of the update. Are you seeing the update on your smartphone? Sound off below.
