Note 4 Keyboard Freezes In Lock Screen

Problem: Hello, I have an issue with my new NOTE 4.  The keyboard gets stuck on my lock screen and I can’t remove it or unlock the device when this happens because the stuck keyboard is blocking my lock screen and I can’t remove it!  This seems to only happen if I’ve finished a text and either push the power button to lock the phone, or let it sit long enough for the lock screen to automatically engage.  This has only started happening recently.  It does this with both my SWIFTKEY keyboard and the stock Samsung keyboard.  I wiped the phone cache but that didn’t help.  Any thought on what I can do to make this stop?  The only way I can make it go away is to yank out the battery and reboot.

Solution: I have also encountered this very same problem on my phone. Have you recently upgraded your phone software? If you have then this is one of the main suspects as to why this issue is happening. Your phone may still have the data of the old software version stored which is causing a conflict with the new software version. What I suggest you do is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

  • Turn off the phone. If the phone will not turn off, remove and re-insert the battery.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power and Home key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up keys.
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device

Note 4 Automatically Opens Google Play Store

Problem: Hi, so I own a Galaxy Note 4. Repeated problems are when I click on an app, it throws me into the Google play store. It design that bout twice each time. Also, the Internet will prompt me to register cause I’ve been chosen to win a new phone, amazon card, etc. That’s a bunch of bull! Anyway, those are my issues and it happens everyday. My micro SD was having issues, but now it’s ok. I don’t understand why I have to reformat the SD but it said that it was corrupted and I had to reformat. So I did that, bit seems ok for now. But yeah,my biggest issue is what I listed prior. How do I get rid of the pop ups? I alredy have my Internet set up to block ad pop ups,but since the upgrade to lollipop version, these issues have been an ongoing occurrence. It’s SO annoying. Please help! Thank u for your time!

Solution: The most likely reason that this issue is occuring is that you have installed an app that is serving an ad that promotes a download of a certain app on the Google Play Store or it could also be an ad on your phone browser that you may have clicked. Try to uninstall the app that causes this issue and see if the problem still occurs.

If the issue still persists then you need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

Note 4 Photos On Facebook & Pinterest Not Saving In Gallery

Problem: I am on my third new phone, the first 2 were galaxy note edge, now I have a note 4 they have all 3 had the same issues. When I am on my phone on Facebook or pintrest and save a picture from either place it does not send it to my gallery. It did for a week or so then it just stops all the pictures I had in the gallery from these 2 places disappear also. I have spent hours on the phone with t-mobile, Samsung and anyone else who can help me. The pictures I try to save now don’t even go in “my files” they can not be found. I have an SD card in my phone also but have taken it out and it still does not work. Can you help me. Thank you

Solution: You should be able to save photos from Facebook or Pinterest and easily view them on your phone Gallery app. Does your phone have any security software installed that may be preventing the saved photos from being displayed? Try to disable the security app of your phone and see if this resolves the issue.

Try to restart your phone to refresh its software. Most issue can easily be resolved by a restart.

If the problem persists then check if your phone is running on the latest software update. You should also uninstall Facebook and Pinterest and install a fresh version from the Google Play Store.

Note 4 Keyboard Freezes

Problem: Hello droidguy i hope you can help me with this problem. so i was reading some resources about how to fix the laggings and freezing  galaxy note 4 but i have a different problem with my keyboard because it froze and every time when i press the letter “ñ” it forces stop. i already did factory reset and also i wiped out the phone cache but it didn’t worked so i wonder if you can help with this and i will be to greatful. thanks and have a good day.

Solution: Try to check if your phone has any new software updates. If there are updates then apply them on your phone. This usually comes with improvements and bug fixes that may help resolve this issue.

If the issue persists you will need to check if a third party app is causing this to occur by starting your phone in Safe Mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power and Volume down key.
  • Release the Power key when the Samsung logo appears but continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.

If the issue does not occur then it may be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then consider installing a third party keyboard.
