There have been multiple reports on the media which suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge weren’t matching the manufacturer’s expectations. But the company has now refuted those claims, mentioning that the smartphone has in fact been very successful so far.
Banking firm Oppenheimer first made these claims, saying that the company’s lack of changes in the software department was responsible for the dismal sales figures. It is said that the company only sold 10 million units of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge while the Galaxy S5 from lat year had already touched the 11 million mark by then.
In response this, an unnamed Samsung executive said the following in an interview with the Korea Times – “Sales of the S6 and S6 Edge are meeting our internal target. S6 sales will clearly be higher than those of the S5. Samsung will aggressively promote sales in our target markets… You have to wait and see; however, the S6 and S6 Edge sales will be far higher than those of the S5.”
