American customers usually don’t get much love from Chinese OEMs, as their devices are usually limited to a specific demographic. However, Oppo has been one of the rare exceptions to this and has sold its handsets in the U.S. through their global online store.
The company has now announced that the freshly unveiled Oppo R7 handset will also be available with the pre-order going live today. It will start shipping out sometime in early July, according to the Chinese manufacturer.
The company is asking for $399 from the device and has free shipping included. To make the deal even sweeter, the company is offering a pair of iLike Speed Metal headphones for free along with the Oppo R7. There is a caveat involved in getting the Oppo R7 though. One of them is the fact that it doesn’t officially support GSM 4G LTE bands in the U.S., so the customers will have to settle for 3G HSPA+ instead.
The handset comes with a 5 inch 1080 AMOLED display, an octa core Snapdragon 615 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable), a 13-megapixel camera on the back, an 8-megapixel front facing camera, Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Color OS and a 2,320 mAh battery.
One of the key selling points of this smartphone is that it packs a body which is just 6.3mm thick, making this quite an exciting prospect, especially given the price. Head over to the link below to pre-order the Oppo R7 for yourself.
