The OnePlus 2 has been revealed to be packing a Snapdragon 810 SoC and a USB Type-C connector so far. The company has today mentioned through its official forum that the device will also feature fingerprint scanning built in by default. This is something that was hinted with the leaked images that surfaced over the weekend.
What’s interesting is that this scanner is supposedly faster than anything we’ve seen so far on smartphones. Apple’s TouchID sensor on the iPhone lineup has been lauded for its security and ease of use. The OnePlus team believes that the fingerprint scanner here will be faster than that, which is quite something.
The company will officially unveil the smartphone on the 27th of July and we’re afraid there won’t be any surprises left in store for the big virtual reality themed launch event. It is expected that the OnePlus 2 will have the fingerprint scanner embedded on the back as the OnePlus One had a fairly clean frontal design.
