The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge was launched in an Iron Man Edition last month. Needless to say, this model generated plenty of attention and was selling for thousands of dollars via online retail outlets. Today, we’re hearing about the smartphone selling for a massive $91,600 in an auction over at China.
There were over 92,000 bids for the smartphone, it is said. Local retailer JD.com put it up for auction as the device was numbered 66. To put things in perspective, number six is considered very lucky in China and the retailer no doubt, was mindful of that.
There were only 1,000 units of the Iron Man Edition Galaxy S6 Edge produced, which is another reason why there’s such high demand for the device. The smartphone costs a touch over $1,000 when it was retailing officially through Samsung and its channels. But since the variant was only exclusive to South Korea, Hong Kong and China, the demand for the device is quite a lot on a global scale.
Do you think this superstition is worth nearly $92,000? What’s the most you would pay for a limited edition version such as this. Sound off below.
