HTC’s smartphones might not be making any waves in the market these days compared to the company’s previous glory, but the Taiwanese manufacturer has still been pretty quick at updating its devices (at least the flagship ones) to newer versions of Android. HTC had announced earlier this year that some carriers weren’t going to meet its 90-day update guarantee period for the One M7 with Android 5.0 Lollipop – Verizon was among the carriers that delayed the update, but the wait for the network’s HTC One M7 users is now coming to an end.
Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC, tweeted today that the Verizon One M7 will start getting the Lollipop update on Thursday. T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T have already updated the device, and Verizon’s update will complete the list. The update will arrive in OTA form, but as usual, it will roll out in phases and hence won’t be made available to everyone immediately. But with Verizon already late to the game, hopefully the rollout won’t take more than a week or so to finish.
Verizon HTC One (M7) Owners! Thank you for your amazing patience. We've received TA on L OS, OTA starting on Thursday.
