Motorola’s Droid series of smartphones have been fairly successful for Motorola as well as Verizon. The company launched three Droid phones (Ultra, mini and the Maxx) back in 2013, but there were no successors for the device in 2014 with Motorola deciding to launch the Droid Turbo instead.
However, a new leak has revealed three new model numbers of potential Motorola handsets suggesting that the Droid lineup might see yet another revival. Dubbed the XT192A, XT1585 and the XT1578, these devices could replace the Ultra, Mini and the Maxx from 2013.
Strangely, the report suggests that all three smartphones will feature 2K resolution displays, suggesting that they might be three different smartphones and not necessarily limited to the Droid lineup. Motorola is expected to launch multiple high end devices this year and it is possible that only one of these belongs to the Droid lineup on Verizon.
Either way, it’s good to see that Motorola has some high end devices in the pipeline, regardless of where they might end up. What do you make of this new revelation?
