According to some media reports, HTC might not be consistent with the production of the One M9 flagship. While the device was said to be launching with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 display, it is being said that HTC is sending out some units of the smartphone with the older Gorilla Glass 3 displays.
HTC hasn’t confirmed this yet, so we can’t tell for sure if this is legitimate, but if true, the Taiwanese manufacturer will have to answer some serious questions. It is said that HTC doesn’t want to make this information public, but it seems to be a little too late for that now.
The use of Gorilla Glass 3 means that customers won’t get the same amount of durability as some of the other users. This is very unfortunate if true and we hope the company comes out with a clarification on the matter. While the average user might not be able to make out the difference between the two variants, it comes across as unethical for the company to do something like this.
Do you think there’s any truth to this? Sound off below.
