Samsung has not hesitated in pushing the envelope when it comes to bringing new technology to the markets. A new report now suggests that the company could take this even further by launching a foldable display, calling this “Project Valley” or “Project V“.
The report reiterates that the smartphone could be in its early developmental stages, suggesting that it could be scrapped before gaining any traction, so don’t get your hopes up just yet.
But it goes to show that Samsung is very willing to bring new technology to the fore at a time when innovation has almost stagnated. We saw the company’s high ambitions with curved mobile displays, starting with the Galaxy Round a couple of years ago. This was followed up by the Galaxy Note Edge last year and the Galaxy S6 Edge a couple of months ago.
Whether Project Valley will ever see the light of the day is only for time to tell, but it’s clear that Samsung has some big ambitions for the mobile industry and it won’t stop with curved displays.
