According to a new rumor, Samsung’s upcoming Gear A smartwatch will be released alongside the Galaxy Note 5 phablet later this year. The circular display smartwatch from Samsung was expected to be revealed sometime this year and it’s good to know that we finally have a release timeframe, albeit from unconfirmed reports.
It is said that the launch of the Gear A was delayed so that the company could maintain a proper schedule with its device launches and to ensure that the Apple Watch is well settled in the market.
This smartwatch from Samsung is said to be running Tizen, which means it will be exclusive to Samsung devices. It is further believed that the device will have a physical rotatory dial on the side which will help in controlling the user interface, much like the Apple Watch.
Samsung has traditionally launched the Galaxy Note flagships at the IFA event in September, so we don’t expect it to be any different this year. The company recently confirmed that this new wearable will be sporting a circular display and expected to get ample support from the developers in time for the launch.
A recent report also mentioned that Samsung is taking input from fashion designers and artists for the design of this new wearable. This Gear A is expected to be packing cellular connectivity by default, much like the Gear S from last year.
