Sad news awaits fans of the Nexus platform as a report is suggesting that Google might not launch a Nexus tablet this year. It is said that the company will instead focus on the two Nexus phones, made by Huawei and LG respectively.
Rumors and leaks have told us that the Huawei Nexus will be succeeding the Motorola Nexus 6 with a 5.7 inch display, while the LG model will be on the smaller side (if you can call it that) with a 5.2 inch display. Further, the report gives us details on the internal codenames for the handsets with the Huawei Nexus slated to be known as Bullhead while the LG Nexus will be supposedly called the Angler internally.
It is said that the LG Nexus will come with a Snapdragon 808 SoC, just like the LG G4 along with a battery which could be around the vicinity of 2,700 mAh, although there’s no confirmation on this front yet.
The bigger Huawei Nexus phone on the other hand will supposedly feature the Snapdragon 810 SoC, hopefully with none of the overheating trouble that has been associated with the chipset so far.
What do you make of this report? Are you disappointed to not have a Nexus tablet launching from Google this year?
