Japanese manufacturer Sony will commence the rollout of Android 5.0 for the Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and the Xperia Z Ultra starting next week, according to a new revelation. The update has already been issued to the standard variant of the Xperia Z3 flagship with the dual SIM version now slated to join the action as well.
The update will bring similar changes as other Xperia devices which received the Android 5.0 update recently, so don’t expect any surprises in store. Lollipop might be better suited for a smartphone like the Xperia Z Ultra which is a 6 inch monster that was unveiled back in mid 2013 by the company.
Although this device wasn’t a massive success for Sony, it’s good to see that the company is supporting the handset with new software. From what we have seen of Sony’s Android 5.0 ROM, there won’t be a lot of changes from Android 4.4 as the company has kept things relatively simple. Some stock apps are getting revamped however, which is a nice change.
Do you own any of the aforementioned smartphones?
